It was formed in 2003. The group's name is a mintage meaning, incorporating pop music with ethno musical elements, from Tokyo.
Leader, Daichi Hayakawa is studying for his doctor's degree in Interdisciplinary Information Studies at one of the best universities in Japan, Tokyo University. He is a mastery of ethnic music all over the world.
Our first single, "tsukinagi" (2004) was awarded new best record of power play in all FM radio stations in Japan. Our 2nd album "World Scratch"(2004) was released in not only Japan, but in Korea, Taiwan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal.
After, there three albums and five singles were released.
In 2007 two female vocalists are out of the group, and become a solo unit of Daichi.
Our new album "World's end wonderland" (2008) including various guest vocalists in Asia, Miu Sakamoto, daughter of Ryuichi Sakammoto, a famous musician, Meguru Azumino is Japanese traditional singer whose father, Takio Ito, a famous singer, Yuyun, who is an Indonesian pop singer and Ashid, one of the best khoomii singer.
TOKYO ETHMUSICA is known as new pop music from Tokyo in Asia.
